Evan Lionel

Bio

A graduate of Columbia College's esteemed Theater Program, Evan Lionel went straight into professional entertainment after completing his degree, doing legitimate theater and stand-up comedy. Before long, Lionel was an award-winning stage actor, receiving a Joseph Jefferson award for "Best Ensemble" in the play PILL HILL. He maintained his strong work ethic and soon his regime of theater six nights a week, followed by late-night comedy performances sparked the attention of the film and television industry.

Raised on the South Side of Chicago in a single- parent family, Lionel is a born entertainer. He has racked up a host of impressive television and movie credits and has done a series of both national and international comedy tours. With an exciting routine that is as inspiring as it is entertaining, Lionel's comedic brilliance has enabled him to be headlined at some of the most esteemed club venues across the country. He's appeared at The Laugh Factory-LA, Chicago, NY, Long Beach, CA and Highland, CA: Dangerfield's Manhattan, NY; various Improv's and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, California. He has also headlined stand up concerts in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace Casino, Mandalay Bay Casino, The House of Blues, The Fitzgerald Casino, The Blue Martini and San Manuel Casino in California. Lionel was also selected as one of the best comedians at the SLO Comedy Festival in 2019.

His television credits include show-stopping performances on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, STARZ Martin Lawrence presents First Amendment, BET Comic View, TV One Who's Got Jokes, and Kevin Hart's One Mic Stand BET. Series dramatic television and film credits include roles costarring with Oprah Winfrey and ABC's There Are No Children Here. Featured role with Robert De Niro and Bill Murray in Mad Dog and Glory, featured role with Scott Bakula in The Shadow of a Killer, guest star with Steven Williams LA Heat television series, and recurring role with Byrne Piven TV series Bom Free. He's also a top billing guest star on NBC's television series Nightman, and a top billing guest star on USA Network Pacific Blue. He can be seen in a featured role as Duke Ellington, with Queen Latifah on the hit syndicated television series Living Single and can currently be seen as a special guest on several episodes of the Mike and Donnie Show on FOX Soul. He is featured in the Documentary Short called DAD Speak,directed by LaRita Shelby.
